tranny experts....good question....

I just put in a jspec tranny. .... suppose to be s s5 jspec..

after I dropped the old tranny out.... (89 turbo) I had to switch the switches on my old tranny to the new jspec tranny. The two "plugs" with wires on the jspec were really small compared to my old tranny. Also, the speedometer cable screw in on the jspec tranny was way different, I had to swap those out...

No the real kicker....the tranny is bad ass.....but the gearing is different????

its ALOT shorter....Before I hit close to 60mph@7k in second, and now, it barley hits a little over 50, cruising in 5th, Im @ 3k @ about 65 or so....

Im not dissapointed, because my car feels a lot faster, but I didn't realize there was a difference....do I have a s4 tranny, s5 tranny? infini jspec???

well the InfiniIV had exactlt the same gearing as the 89 A spec cars:

Infini IV.....A-spec T2...A-spec coupe
1st 3.48.....3.48...........3.47
2nd 2.02.....2.015.........2.366
3rd 1.39.....1.39...........1.366
4th 1.00.....1.00...........1.000
5th .72.......72..............697

So differences that small wouldn't make much difference.

well

Im going to get my laptop out and do a datalog and see exactly what speed im at @ the end of each gear and compare it with stock.....

here is just a guess, but maybe the gears for the speedo cable in the tranny are different due to the fact they have KPH vs MPH.
