TPSs suck ass!!!!

I just got one in the mail from Ebay. Guess what broken. So is the original one on the car, plus my friends is also broken. All seem fine at idle but as you open the TB more they cut out at about 1900ohms. These things stink. I sure ass hell aint gonna pay mazda $180 for a little resister. I heard someone mention using domestic ones. Maybe I can find a good parts guy and he can help me out. IF not Im definately gonna concider forking up the extra $550 to go with a weber carb set up. Its time to upgrade my fuel system anyways. Hmm.... $180 to return to stock plus a fuel pump, injector cleaning/calibrating, and a AFC. Not much more and I can run carbed.
How many TPS have you guys replaced?
BTW Sorry to be bitching

Dude, I totally know what you are going through. The TPS that came on the 90 GTU that I have was shot. I got a used one from a friend that ALSO didn't work. Eventually my TPS was so bad that my car would hesitate HEAVILY from 4000 rpms to about 6300rpms(only under heavy throttle), not to mention buck like a wild bull while driving slowly through parking lots and such. Anyways, I got a used TPS the other day from a junkyard, put it on my car today and got it adjusted. It has made the HUGEST differencel, no hesitation whatsoever, driving slowly is easy, and it pulls past redline EASILY(see mods in sig). It is so worth it to get a TPS that works, even if you have to spend 180 to get a new one.
Another thing I have thought of is somehow opening the the box where the resitor is located in and replacing the potentiometer inside. I don't know if its possible, but it seems that it would be as simple as putting in another 1-5ohm potentiometer inside. But I don't know if that is possible or not. I think the general consensus is that it's not possible, but I'm not so sure.

Why did you remove your BAC? I dont have anything else except that. I really thought about replacing the pot inside. It looks pretty well sealed. I think I can make a domestic one work better. Well I hope.
