tps- replace?

I am thinking that my tps is bad b/c:

1. Doesn't start up right sometimes (drops to idle
in like 10sec)

2. It bucks for a second when you mash the gas
quickly or let off quickly

3. Major power loss from 3900-5600rpm! !
NOT A HESITATION

ANYWAY... Should I take a chance getting a used one, or should I get one new? How much are they? New and used?

Thanks if you can help,
Charles

Charles,

Well first try adjusting the TPS and see if it's within spec. 2nd a full tuneup with plugs, wires, fuel filter, fluids, etc..

Also check the strainer/filter in the gas tank and make sure it's not clogged.

Also, if you look at fc3spro.com, they have a section on adjusting the TPS with a multimeter, which is the most accurate way, as well as a telltale for wether or not you have a bad TPS, somthing the 2 lights cant tell

Hey, check and see if the wires to your secondary injectors are plugged in. I had the same power loss problem if i had the gas pushed more than half, after 3500 RPM. Turns out the plug wire to one of the secondary injectors had vibrated loose and was no longer connected.
Hope this helps!
