TPS read 1.88k ohm at rest ...?

so using my DMM i adjusted back down to about 1 kohm. is this right or have i jsut screwed it up completely.I have just read a couple of ways to adjust is after searching so will try those asap. It read 5.something at WOT so i know its ok ( i think ) The car isnt running at the mo ( will hopefully be tonight ) and i though id check to see where it was at.

You need to adjust it while the car is warm. If you can get it running, and the idle is high, wait for it to warm up, then reset it again. And while you have your DMM connected you might as well do a sweep test and check for dead spots in the TPS. Just go through the full range and make sure none of the resistance values bounce...make sure it is a smooth transition all the way up to 5.Xkohms at WOT.

When you adjust it you use a special checker with two lamps. You use a multimeter to test whether the TPS is still good. You might want to read the FSM... I think you are a little confused.

Just be glad you only have one sensor to go wrong, on my S5 one was in spec, the other was way off. Damn!
