TPS quickie
Hey guys, I posted about some low rpm bucking as was told that probably my TPS was not configured right.
THen I went on some technical sites for making the LED TPS checker, and I made it (out of old xmas lights though). Then I came accross an inconsistency, a post on the forum said that I should adjust the screw so both lights are on, the technical site said adjust them so one light is on. Which is correct? I did it for one light so far. Initially, when turning the key, one light flashed and then turned off and no light were on. Now only one light comes and stays on. Did I do this right? THanks, |
I had to adjust my tps about 2 weeks ago. it was way out of line. I followed a walkthrough which explained everything. In short;
Make sure your car is hot, but not running. Connect lights Turn screw CounterClockwise untill both lights come on Turn screw Clockwise until one of the lights goes COMPLETELY off Take your car for a test drive At this point it may or may not be adjusted correctly. A simple test would be to give your car very little gas in neutral, bring the rpms up to like 1500 and let it run there. if it skips or bounces then you need to adjust the TPS again. You can also try different RPMs. You may also want to check if everything is clean under the hood. I actually had some greasy build up which made the TPS vary. Have a good one! |
