TPS needs to be replaced?
I was checking my NA S4's TPS a couple of minutes ago using the following method:
http://fc3spro.com/TECH/HOWTO/TPS/tps.html -- I adjusted the TPS to ~1k ohm at rest. I then proceeded to manipulate the throttle to WOT, and noticed that at a certain point, about 80% open, my DMM went to infinity for a second... and when finally at WOT, it topped at 4.4k ohm. According to that writeup, things going out-of-range during the transition means that the TPS is bad or about to die... right? So... what should I do? Get a new one? Help! |
Try it with an analog meter before you rule this one as being bad.

Also, is it pretty consistant when you are measuring this blip on the DMM, meaning does it happen everytime you measure it on the way to WOT. |

Are you able to notice anything wrong when you are actually driving it?

yea i would try replacing that, I am actually selling a used one right now if you want it. I'll PM you with the price.
EDIT: 3800 rpm bog might be a whole different issue. |
yea - the 3800 hesitation might be a grounding issue.

Thanks to everyone for their input!
toastiepenguin, thanks for the PM! I'll buy that TPS :) |
