TPS Can't FIND answer HELP...
 

I'm so confused as to physically how to adjust the tps on an 89 t2.....got the one closest to the front of car to adjust by loosing nut and turning screw under it but how do u adjust the one closer to the fire wall?????
do I have to open up the tps??? or loosen the throtle rod bolt???? Helpppppppp. Thx
PS....got over an hour reading arcs...to no avail. I tryed

Copied off a How To:
FULL - Probe the FULL DATA line. It should read close to 0.8v. (Safe range is probably 0.6 to 1.0.) If it is off, take a large pair of pliers, and gently bend the entire metal TPS "platform" left or right as necessary to bring the voltage to 0.8v. A little goes a long way, so be gentle. Once the voltage is close to 0.8v, you are done with the FULL range.
NARROW - Probe the NARROW DATA line. It should read roughly 1.0v (but it could be way off.) Turn the TPS adjust screw until you get 1.0v. Don't forget to "blip" the throttle to make sure it has settled. Double-check the connector using the (step 7) method above. (It should be correct, only one side active.) If both (or neither) sides are active, you'll need to fall back on the method above. When you are finished adjusting, double-check the voltage for the NARROW DATA again. It should be close to 1.0v (0.75 - 1.25 is tolerable.)

so...I've got to "bend the platform" ???

It's the same adjustment I used to have on my website.
The color codes are the same, although you'll be staring at 6 wires instead of 3.&nbsp Warm the engine up, and pull the TPS plug off the wiring harness - if it's a turbo, the IC has to be removed.&nbsp Insert DMM probes with black and green wires.&nbsp Adjust resistance until it hit 1k ohms.&nbsp Pump the throttle a few times to make sure it returns to the same resistance reading - if not, readjust until you get a better reading.&nbsp Adjusting it lower (i.e. 0.9x k ohms) is better than higher.

Did it...was at bout 8k now at 9.7k or so...got rid of a lite irradic poping noise in exhaust too. do I also need to adjust the other tps( closer to firewall with no screw)??

Um, another TPS?&nbsp The other side of the TPS is a full-range TPS that the OMP uses, and it's non-adjustable.&nbsp I think you're talking about the "dashpot"?

I think he's worried because there is the narrow and full range sensor.

So, The full range is non adjustable...maybe that is what is been screwing me up on understanding this TPS thing...thought they needed to be in sinc. or something.
Glad I didn't start "bending" that full range.
What is it's purpose anyway?

Like I said previously, the full-range TPS is used by the OMP - oil metering pump.
