Turbo it! The only other way of getting some more oomph is to slap a weber on it.

what answeres are you looking for ?

I have 130rwp and is extremely flat curve.

If you talking about stop light torque to get you to work and back then try another daily driver. Thats my best advice if you dont like what I have and the mods listed to get thier.

why is everyone complaing so much about torque!! Just drive to redline!! And ppl there rotaries!! Thier not supposed to have a lot of torque!!

Drifter101 04-21-03 07:33 PM

Yah, it seems like everybody these days is searching for torque. Ill take my nice even power curve :)

domokunSPL 04-21-03 07:42 PM

yeah i see liek 3 torque threads on ONE screen. TREND anyway. i honestly think that all the beliefs on torque are a little over shot...everytime i see a s2000 do doughnuts i'm like...man wtf that think smokes tires better then most stangs....it does. So that makes me wonder just how much torque matters over where you make your peek power. if you have a peeky motor your aren't going to have that low down v8 grunt. just think about it. my camaro tells me to shift at liek 2k rpm. 2k!! if you shift a rx7 at 2k talk about boging. my 7 redlines at 8k my camaro 6.

A little more touque in the lower midrage makes these cars a blast to drive though. I miss it. My latest exhaust has robbed me of my low-mid torque. I don't drive my rx7s all out all the time. just sometimes. I live in the city, and I like to go driving along hilly country roads. Having everything at the top end wears the driver out on hillyh country side.
I am with you man. More mid torque. I have three S4s, one is set up for spirited daily driving and can easily be converted into autox and other road courses. If this is a daily then I would do this:
MSD Ignition on the leading then if you want on the trailing later.
I would recomend the RB cat back, with a Dynomax Ultra Flo cat.
Pinapple racing sleeves. They say and I believe 8 HP gain and a flatter curve.
Cold air w/K&N
Mild port on the intake manifold, TB mod, electric fan, underdrive pully on the main, but not the water pump unless you live in a cooler environment. Aluminum radiator. Get a good set of plug wires. Change all fluids to top grade synthetic (unless you don't want to in the motor, some don't, I do). If it is not a hot environment then loose the A/C, but keep the power steering for city driving (remember the synthetic). You can loose the air pump though. Later if you want you can add the RB header. I like it but you'r torque does move up the power band. Get a good clutch like a CenterForce Dual Friction. These are good for serveral setups.
thats a good starting point for specifics. find your own order for the timing of the mods. I would start with the cat-back
