Tinting

Anyone done their own tint? I've seen DIY jobs before and they look like complete ass. Is there a special technique to it? Where can I get good quality tint? Do they even make rolls big enough for the FC's rear glass?

Did my own, turned out really good but took it off due to it getting attractive to law enforcement. All it takes it real patience. The rear glass needs to be doen in 2 pieces, the seam hidden on the defroster lines.

Defroster lines....genius....how long did it take you?

Also, it is illegal to do the windshield, yes?

man the rear can be done in one piece...

wow twice and still people think the rear has to be done in 2 pieces. If done right it will be in once piece and molded and most of the DIY crap is because of cheep film and pore squegy techniques.

Any tips on whats a good brand name to buy tint from?

Hint..hint...Pay a good shop to do it. Well worth it, plus most offer a lifetime warranty. I've tinted a bunch of my own cars, it is never as good as what they do.. Its worth it.

Yeah, the real problem with tint is getting ahold of the good quality stuff, as well as the good glue. There's also special adhesion promoters that they'll put down, which allows them to position it, whereas you'll spend hours putting it down/peeling it off, etc..

that's one job that I just pay people to do.. and I generalyl don't let other people touch my vehicles...
