Time/difficulty in swapping fenders/bumper

I've got a silly idea that I'm considering running with that would involve swapping around between 2 sets of hood/front fenders/front bumpers every so often. Obviously this is easier when you've done it a few times, but how difficult/how much time does it generally take to swap the front bumper & fenders? I already know how much time/effort (very little if you've got 2 people) the hood takes. Thanks!

sounds like a fairly silly idea. swapping them isnt hard, all you need is a 10mm wrench and socket. and you have to remove the blinkers. probably a 15 minute job

It is.... and somewhat expensive- though not as much in parts as elsewise... :P

You could probably take one set off and put another one in 30 minutes or so if you had an air ratchet and weren't worried about proper alignment (of body panels, not wheels)

I'd say about an hour with 2 people, assuming that both sets fit equally well/easily and that you don't care about even panel gaps

45 minutes if you do it with hand tools. are you planing on robbing a bank and then changing the body panesl so the description doesn't match?? If so you can do it in 5-10 minutes if you don't use all the bolts.

Yeah, I'm going to bet that if the police are looking for a white Mazda Rx7 and they find you driving a white RX7 with a red front clip with a bunch of white panels sticking out the hatch, they're probably going to pull you over anyway. :D If you're robbing a bank, go down to Enterprise and rent a gold Yukon/Suburban/Expedition, find a parked one that's identical (should take all of about 1.5 minutes :D ) and swap the plates, then peel the little green sticker off. :rlaugh:

It will take from an hour to three hours, if they're aftermarket. My fiberglass fenders and bumper from Extreme Dimensions came and needed modification, with all drilling required. Getting those three lined up perfect AND supported safely is quite a task if it doesnt come with it's own hardware. On the other hand, if they're OEM fenders, youll have them off in 15 mins or less. Maybe another 10 for the bumper. And yeah 10mm is a must.

Ahhh, a silver '88 vert. I always thought silver would be it if I repainted mine.
