TII LSD question

I have a Jspec TII rear end and instead of 4 friction disks, it has a total of 6. Does anyone know how they stack in the diff? I can't re-assemble until I know.

PLease Please Please Need a GURU

I really really REALLY need a diagram on which order to assemble a 6 friction disk TII LSD Clutch type. Has anyone out there done this before. I have been searching the web for weeks. I just need a diagram. Is anyone out there???

I would think it would be the same as the 1st gen with only 4 per side,

The external ear plates are first to go on after the conical springs leaving an internal ear plate last on the stack, rubbing against the thrust ring.

Conical spring
external ear
internal ear
external ear
internal ear
external ear
internal ear
thrust ring
spider gear assembly
thrust ring
internal ear
external ear
internal ear
external ear
internal ear
external ear
conicla spring

is that what you needed?

if not have a read through this, it is for 1st gens but the LSD's are basically the same just bigger and more plates.

^^^ probably not the best theory to use

the have detailed pictures of how the friction discs, and plates go together in the FSM in the 2nd gen FAQ

i was just looking at them the otherday, i'm thinking of getting some oversized discs and thrust washers from mazdatrix and rebuilding mine

In the FSM, it shows only 4 disks (internal ears) in total and 4 plates with external ears in total. When I pulled this one apart, it had 6 of each. So the FSM will not show the assembly order. If I recall, when I pulled it apart, it had a few of the internal eared disks next to each other, so they were not alternating in order. I did not pay any attention to the order that they came out becasue I knew there was a diagram in the FSM. Boy was I wrong.

The reason they would setup with internal ear plates and external ear plates together is to lower the breakaway or torque required to break the lock up action of the discs generally because you might suffer wheel skip in car parks or understeering due to the lsd locking up and not allowing the wheels to spin independantly.

if you look on page 9-42 of the fsm it shows the turbo model with 6 discs
first in the housing is spring-spring-spring-disc-disc-plate then the spider gears then plate disc disc spring spring spring

What came out is 2 conical springs, 6 plates and 6 disks
