Is This TII A Good Buy?
 

Just wondering if it a good or bad buy 4 an 87 TII with 121,000km, the seller is asking $4600. Also is there and issues with this year i should know about

tons of possible issues, but if the car is PERFECT with good compression on the motor, 4600 is probably close to reasonable. but don't get all giddy just yet, because the vast majority of ANY car this old is not in perfect condition.

If it's in typical 87 TII condition I won't go over $3000 USD for one and I just bought mine so I know what they're going for currently. And that's if nothing is leaking or grossly broken. Old paint, a few broken vent fins, bad radio/antenna, dead shocks/bushings, wiper issues, etc should be expected but any drivetrain, engine, turbo, starting, cooling issue will drop the price like a rock. Like SpeedOfLife says, $4600 should be in near perfect condition.

I'd love to get 4600 out of mine....but would feel bad for the sucker spending that.


87 is a good year....nothing to look out for. I'd just try and talk him down a bit...you're probably talking canadian dollars though, aren't you?

4600 may not be quite as unreasonable then, but still, just do some more research and it should serve you well.

i spent 6000 on mine, but it was stock and had 45k miles on it

yeah, with this one having almost 3 times the miles, and this is 20 years old, technically probably 21 because of when car models are released, so when did you buy your '7, secondmessiah?

yeah it is in canidain dollers , and the paint is faded bad but everything else looked pretty good. I still havent chance to hear her running or drive her so that could really change things 4 me.

its kilometers to by the way so 121 is around 70 -75 miles

It sounds like it could be good, but if it hasn't been redlined once in a while or driven at least a couple times a month there could be internal motor issues like carbon build up and sticking seals. A compression test would be a good thing for you to do on it.
