TII crate motors? did a search and
TII crate motors? did a search and it was unclear as if there are crate motors available still...
anyways 1/2 the thread said yes but left no indication about how to get one... and the other 1/2 said no but hoped that it was a yes and asked for more details LOL... if they do exist where do you get them? asked a dealership around here and they said no... so maybe japan? Neal |
any local mazda dealership should be able to get one for you in the $2100-2200 range, they call them re man's

I got my engine from J-spec autos. s4 or s5 you can specify which one you want, same price. I paid 1425 shipped to my door, complete long block and tranny. for you it should be about 1300 on the dot, I live in Florida and the company is in QB canada, the shippings a little bit more for me.

For clarification, there are NO brand new engines floating around. What mazda and all the online retailers sell are rebuilds (remans). Mazda builds their own, and the other retailers each have their own rebuild specs and parts that they use in their engines. To build an engine with every part brand factory new, would cost >$5000, for JUST the short block.
Also, what rebuilders and mazda sell is just the shortblock...mazda gives you the oilpan, flywheel, and water pump too, the others do not. The normal course of action is to strip your original engine down to the block, transfer those parts onto the new one, and the old one is your core. Some rebuilders like myself require your core up front due to problems with getting useable cores, and junk cores being returned. The only place to get a longblock style drop in engine is a junkyard or a jspec (japanese junkyard) motor. Most rebuilds run between $1000-2500. Most jspecs run between $750-1500. Jspecs usually have low miles, say 50-75k, but have sat a while since they last ran, and often you get them with stuck seals and low compression. Some of them show up in immaculate condition, some of them are pieces of shit. It is a gamble. |
so where is a good place that i can get a reman?
|
mazda dealer
|
search around this site for J-SPEC
when my buddy ace bought his, it came with a TII tranny and complete engine, (all the accessories ie. alternator, wter pump, turbo all that good stuff) not just a block The motor came from japan although it was used he put over 125,000 hard kms on it before it bit the biscuit all in all total cost of the engine was $1600 tax in |

Right on kevin, I worked this up a while back (forgot the actual thread and too lazy to search)
http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/attach...&postid=366693 All prices are from mazdatrix. I dont think i missed anything except a few bolts. |
It'd be more than that right now, with rotorhousing production/availability/pricing questionable due to low supply. Last I checked I could not get them for less than $600 each.
|
Does anyone have a website for jspec auto's and any info on how they do bussiness??
|
Chris @ SPD (above) can get you jspecs. I can supply rebuilds.
