Throttle body vac/coolant diagram
 
Okay this is my last, I am so confused theead! I might even become a useful forum member once my car turns on :). I need a diagram with all emissions removed where I should route coolant and vac lines coming from the TB.

Im sorry I must be really stupid but I dont see ANY throttle body diagrams, and reading through the posts I just got confused, Vacuum source to double throttle diaphram?!?!? what the heck is going on! Also their was no mention of the coolant flow, Also my TB isnt modded I am trying to figure out how to run it to get thermowax and everything to work right.

Three and sometimes four nipples on the back of the series four Turbo thottle body. ONLY the bottom one is a vacuum source and it goes to the left to the water thermo valve.
After leaving the water thermo valve it goes to the double throttle diaphrams nipple.
The large nipple goes to the OMP spider. One of the top two go to the fuel injector air bleed nipple b/t the two oil injectors on the lower intake manifold.

The coolant leaves the nipple on the rear side housing and goes to the large nipple at the bottom of the throttle body. The coolant leaves the throttle body on top of the throttle body, and routes to the nipple attached to the side of the BAC (used to HEAT the BAC during cold weather), then routes to the rear of the water pump housing .

At the moment I forget what each of the three nipples on the front of the throttle body do in life. Time to watch the TV.

It didn't show the water hose routing though.

The diagram I'm attaching came off the hood of my TurboII and shows where each vacuum hose goes on a stock car. Easy to follow.

Anyway, the picture I attached shows where all three of the nipples on the front of the throttle body go. The bottom two to the Purge valve and the top one to feed vacuum to the solenoids.

I'll just drop out of this thread and if someone else knows what is wanted/needed, have at it.

That is a Check Valve. They are colored half white and half green. There was one there when the car was built. It's needed.

yeah I am confused by that vac line in general, which solenoid is it running too, I read before all I needed to keep was twinscroll.

The CV is going to the twin scroll solenoid. They called it Turbo S.V in the picture. On a normal car the top nipple on the front of the throttle body also feeds the EGR and Switching solenoids.

I guess I should say the top nipple is feeding vacuum to the twin scroll solenoid (Turbo S.V) thru the checkvalve (CV) and is also feeding the EGR and Switching solenoids. That's what NZCONVERTIBLE's diagram also shows (except he isn't feeding the Switching and EGR solenoids).

ooohkay, now figured it out, What I was confused about is the vac lines for double throttle coming off the TB, they go directly to the very bottom nipple on the UIM facing the front of the car

Nah. See the picture. See the THREE nipples on the front of the throttle body. Now see the FOUR nipples on the rear of the throttle body. Look at the bottom of the four nipples. See the *C*????????????

Now look at the far left bottom of the diagram, just above the words MAZDA is VIEW *B*. See the letter *C* in View B? They're telling you the fourth nipple on the throttle body goes to the C at the bottom of the diagram. Then it, the vacuum goes thru the check valve and into that outfit with two nipples. That OUTFIT is the water thermo valve. The vacuum exits the water thermo valve when the water is cold, and then goes fwd to the nipple on the double throttle diaphram. The double throttle diaphram is not represented very well in the diagram.

Personally, I've never seen a double throttle diaphram that was functional. Usually the things won't hold vacuum and therefore don't work. I'm not sure why your working on that item. Unless you want pure stock RX.

Im so confused, I thought I needed it, So I can just cap off those vac lines and forget it? it wont fk my driveability, at the moment i feel fantastically stupid since I just sprayed 4 quarts of nice expensive oil onto the floor :(, I got demoralized and wanted to hear her run so I sprayed some carb cleaner in their and cranked it up... ofcourse forgetting my oil filter sitting on the seat next to me, to say the least I turned it off within 5 seconds and :(

To me the double throttle or the lack of isn't significant. BUT I do believe in the water thermowax functioning right.

That means that the water hose on the rear rotor housing should be connected to the bottom of the throttle body and exit the top of the throttle body and then run to the BAC and on to the back of the water pump housing.

The water thermowax has no vacuum lines etc going to it. It comes in handy on cold/cooler days. Helps warm the engine up.

My question then is if there is no bac, is it fine that I have the water hose from rear rotor connected to the bottom of the throttle body, but the topped exit of the throttle body capped off ?

I ran some autoparts store coolant hose from the top port of the TB directly to the back of the waterpump housing, just route it carefully so it doesn't kink. I have no BAC but thermowax functions correctly. I do have a FMIC so I don't know if you will have to route it such that the TMIC won't interfere.

I'm not sure if you could block off the top port, but I wouldn't do it. From the factory the coolant returns to the waterpump housing for a reason.

Somebody else may confirm this, but I think you can just disregard the green and blue hoses in the pic you posted and I presume cap off the rear nipple. The thermovalve for the double throttle system is pretty useless.

I have a top mount, alright...so Ill leave the caps on the thermo, and cap off the other tb nipple. As for the colant hose, Ill run it from the top to the rear on the water housing as I had that originally capped off as well.
