Well i found that the throttle response was much better and possibly more power (I chucked a haltech on at the same time). It does take a bit of getting used to though, because the throttle isn't as stiff and it's too easy to over correct when opening and closing the throttle.
Stiff suspension doesn't help either. It's a bit hard to get a smooth throttle over bumps :) It's still worth it though :)

How about disabling the first set of secondary plates so they stay open all the time and seeing what you think of it before removing the whole kit and kabootle????? I think this can be done on the turbo by removing that front dashpot that the black cam rides on. Thats on a series four turbo. On a series four n/a if you just remove the vac line to the diaphram the plates spring open fully all the time. Never done the throttle body mod myself, so the above could be claptrap. Just exercising the fingers.

Throttle Body Mod
Cons: Cold starts on cold days takes some pedaling to get warmed up.
Pros: Eliminate the fails-by-surprise coolant line.
Minor HP gain, Minor throttle response improvement.
Easier, faster access to upper engine stuff.

I just removed my first row of throttle butterflies and didn't mess w/ the coolant lines. I was very happy with the results.

I just wired the plates open right where the diaphram attaches. Left all the other stuff attached. Didn't see any change at all. Made me feel better though.
