Think its done it this time (Flooding like crazy all the time no matter what I do)
 

Hey! I have a 87 NA that is giving me the shits. About a week ago the car ran fine, just needed a new water pump. When I got home I changed the oil, changed the spark plugs to NGK R whatever that means and am waiting on the water pump and went to start it and it gets wicked flooded all the time. I had to pull start it just to get it so I could drive it to the parts store and back. I dont know what to do here as I have tried everything to stop the flooding minus new injectors and injector seal kits. What should I do before that? is there anything else I could do to stop it from flooding before I drop 440.00? Thanks for any help. P.S. I havent done a compression test and will be doing so asap.

make sure your getting good spark.. cause if not it will jsut keep flooding..

your gonna need 2 ppl for this...

Also try doing this in the engine bay where there's not alot of paint as paint could prevent it from arching and the arch could ruin the paint

leaving all the plugs in the engine pull one of the leading wires off.. hold it close to the frame somewhere and get a buddy to crank over the engine.. you should get consistent spark..

If that works then pull out one of the leading plugs and in a well ventilated area (AKA not your garage) leave the plug in the wire (just use the same wire/plus you used the first time) hold the side of the plug to the frame and get your friend to crank over the engine just a few times if it works then your injectors could be bad.. get them cleaned??

also when doing it with the plug out to not crank the engine over too much you should get spark the second you turn the engine over and the engine doesn't have to start to produce spark

if you unsure of what consistent spark is make a video of you doing the test and post it..

check compression...Make sure you hooked everything up good..
