Thermowax
Can the thermowax on the throttle body be removed w/o removing the 2ndary throttle plates
|
Yes.
I have no clue why you would want to do that, however. |
well...assuming hes in FL....he probably dont need to sit in the car on those coooold winter mornings holding the throttle

I doesnt get tooo cold here in fla for me to have warming problems. but it seems as if my thermowax (i assume) is malfunctioning. before the pd fire everything worked fine. but now when the car is started it revs to 3000 as usual, drops to 1500, then to 1000 then to 750. but as soon as you tap the throttle it revs up to 1500 and stays there. I figured that the thermowax is the problem seeing how it idles fine until you open the throttle... it seems to be sticking at 1500... any tips??

Well, if you're going to pull it to eliminate variables (like I did) thats pretty cool :) Make sure you remove the little adjuster 'arm' with it as well. But while you've got everything out, why not remove the plates as well? They arent controlled by anything without the thermowax.
Also you might want to check your BAC and your AWS solinoid THINGY in case they are opening for some reason. |
ok, what should I use to plug the hole left by the rod for the 2ndary plates?
