Thermostat - Does it twist off??

Trying to remove the thermostat, just wondering does it twist off or do i pull it out?

Get hammer or equivalent and gently the center sideways.
Corrosion and crud tend to "lock" the thermostat in place.

Yes usually you can pull it up by hand
