Is there supposed to be a hose attached to this thingy?

I went to the junk yard today and there was a hose attached to this thingy that went to the back of the motor. Can anyone tell me where to put those hoses?
Thanks!

Oh it's the one in the green circle.

That is the dashpot for the first row of throttle butterflies. If you remove those, you don't need the dashpot, but yes, there should be a vacuum hose attached to it, or the first row would never open, keeping the engine from running well/at all!

Thanks!
I got the hoses, but could you tell me what should be connected to what?

Its a double throttle diaphram that I'd bet even money has a busted diaphram and does not work. Put a piece of vac hose on the double throttle diaphram and suck. You should ge able to hold a vacuum but I'd bet you can't because its busted like the other 90 percent that are out there. Another piece of hardware to created by the folk who designed the logicon, wiper sw, idiot light assy, cpu and on and on and on the list goes. By the way. The throttle plates are sprung to the open position(on a n/a engine, not turbo) if this part(the diaphram) does not work. Live without it and put a screw in the end of the hose. The cost of a new one is prohibitve, at least for me.

I'm not exactly positive, but I believe there is a vac splitter located just above the dahpot nearest to the firewall... I believe that is where it goes

If the diaphram is good, then its hose goes to a thermowax on the aft end of the throttle body. It is a piece of plastic with two plastic nipples on it. One nipple has a hose going to the double throttle diaphram. The other nipple should have a vac hose on it and the other end of that hose goes straight down about four or five inches to a metal nipple on the intake manifold. Thats the source of suction. Still bet the diaphram is no good, which means you'll have a slight vacuum leak as long as the hoses are connected.

Thats the double throttle diaghram. And the vacuum hose that attaches to it is supposed to also have a one way/delay check valve. But removing the assembly is part of the throttle body mod. Believe it or not, my assembly works.
