No

Yes. They have different P/N for the clutches and have different transmissions.

I've noticed some PN differences, like motor or tranny mounts, driveshaft(or was it the driveshaft dampener), clutch kits..........

I always wondered if the 'vert pieces were tailored to smooth out the driving experience, and to help mask drivetrain induced chassis wiggle. But, from what I've noticed, the trannies were the same.

They are still interchangable...

The convertibles used the M50N tranny, while the non turbo coupes used versions of the M582 (depending on what year).

I don't know what is actually different as far as the clutch, but I suspect that you had a higher clamping force (due to the increased weight of the car) and slightly oversized clutch plate (probably simular to how the S4 Turbo clutch is a 240mm, while the S5 is a 235mm- yet the two fit just fine to the same flywheel and housings and are completely interchangeable in the aftermarket world).

As far as motor mounts, yes the vert motor mounts were stonger to make the engine more of a structural member.

Huh, I didn't know that. I just put a coupe trans into my vert since my old trans had two blown syncros.
