test pipe?

hey guys if i want to install a test pipe on ym y fc was would i be taking out the main converter ? or will i be taking out more?

cool_as_crap 08-29-06 04:51 PM

usually test pipe implys main cat, so yes. though you could put test pips in to replace the other cats you have

vipers 08-29-06 04:56 PM

a test pipe replaces the main cat.. a header will replace the rest of em'...

freddybignutz30 08-29-06 05:20 PM

so i can replace the others with test pipes too? after the headers isnt it the the down pipe then the cat converters?

what are you running S4 or S5, if your running a S4(86-88) then you need the air tube from your cat to run your 5th and 6th ports.

http://www.rx7.com > FC3s > Bonez Race Pipe.

I think it's what you're looking for ;-)!

freddybignutz30 09-01-06 07:55 AM

so this would get rid of all the cats then ?

vipers 09-04-06 09:33 PM

yes, the bonez race pipe directly replaces all the cats... bonez is a good company 2! ive used their catalytic converters twice

I've got a pacesetter header, 2.5" main cat replacement pipe, and Corksport Power Series catback, on my S4 NA. Now the trick, if you have a S4, is to keep your smug pump and run your actuators off of that.

Their cats are good, but the race-pipe is kinda cheap. The flange on mine warped causing a major exhaust leak. Also, it doesn't reliably operate the aux ports with a large catback. The only one I know of that always opens them is the RB setup.
