temperature sensitive hesitation???
 

Here is the deal:
When my car has been sitting overnight and i go to start it, it starts up fine and idles great and i can drive it. however, the throttle is EXTREMELY sensitive and will have a massive hesitation if i give it a lot of gas. now, after it warms up WAY past normal operating temp it will eventually be just fine and i can drive it great without any issues but it takes about 20-30 minutes before the hesitation starts to go away.

now, when i park my car at work and come out 4 hours later and its been sitting in the sun the whole time, i start it up and the hesitation is very minimal or non-existant. this is why i call it temperature sensitive.

any ideas on this?

this is my 6th FC and i've done all the work on this car myself and i like to think i'm pretty saavy about almost everything under my hood but i don't know what could be tha sensitive to what seems like ambient temps.

wow, sorry.

S5 turbo. new vac lines all around and VERY careful to get them correct, no air pump, no cat. painstakingly set the TPS, had new O2 sensor and fuel filter when i put all this together just under 1 year ago.

i know with most turbo cars they have to warm up before you can fully boost

well, this hesitation is WAY before boost. happens BAD at about 2000-2500 rpm even after warming up for 15+minutes. if i even breathe on the throttle wrong is hesitates like mad. I've been able to deal with it but it's getting annoying

Are your plugs, coil, and ignitor fine? Also, have you checked your voltage at start-up and later? I noticed that when my alternator was draining my battery, it ran like ass. After I drove the car a bit, it would start running like a raped ape like normal.

this engine has been through 2 full sets of coils, ignitors and plug wires with no change in the issue. i could probably used new plugs by now but when they were new it still did it. voltage stays pretty much right at 14v (stock gauge) at all times. but i'll check all these things.

it's hard for me to think it's electrical or completely electrical as the car can sit in the sun for 10 hours and then start right up and run damn near perfect?

but it starts to hesitate HARD at 3500-3800 rpm... when its warm i only have little hesitation...

maybe secondarys a re clocked?

I don't know, but the only thing that changes with temperature are the sensors, such as the air intake and thermo temp sensor.

Could it be that the therm sensor is bad, and its running way to rich at startup, thus the hesitation? I dunno, just a guess.

Check the thermotemp sensor, mine would do the same thing until i figured out the damn thing was unplugged.

i'll check it. thats the one behind the alternator and thermostat housing right?

i thought if the thermo sensor was bad or disconnected the ecu would go into limp mode and it would run crappy ALL the time? my problem is not ALL the time.
