TB Mod and question:)

Hehe, if figured you guys would just look at my post and flame me for not searching:)

I searched and I had one question about the modification. Some post mentioned that the cruise control would not function after this mod. And he removed the system. (His car is white and has this picture with everything open infront of a barn)

I was looking at the write up and my TB and I don't see why that is so. Is that a true statment?

Also, can you test the resting clearance of the primary butterfly valve with the TB out of the car? Mine looks like it is to wide.

Hey don't keep the info to yourselves :D

Lol, what Ted told me was that I would not loss my cruise control on my car. '91 Turbo. He said the turbos would not loss cruise control. As far as an NA I would ask him about that.

As far as the butterfly valve clearance I am going to check mine but that is it.

On an NA; If you remove the thermowax, you can keep the cruise control, but you have to use spacers to make up for the removed parts - to keep the alignment.

Yeah, I remember running into that cruise-control issue on mine (89 N/A) ... I spaced the bracket using four or so washers, works fine for me.

Finally got my TB modded. Just need to plaster in some JB Weld. Before the mod my primarry butterfly valve was open slightly when just sitting there. After the mod it is completly closed. Is that what you guys saw too?

James
