TB butterflies
I took my throttle body off and noticed that the primary (top) single butterfly isn't closed all the way at no throttle. I'm not quite sure whether or not to adjust it to be closed, so what should I do?

what's this "i" stuff? :pokeowned:
anyways, you can adjust it closed but the BAC is set to bypass a certain amount. doing the adjustment now we will have to adjust the throttle stop, then reset the TPS and then set the BAC to idle. the BAC will be null and void after the FMIC gets installed anyways so i would prefer not messing with it until we get the piping done and the car started. like you needed a thread about.... lol |
They're supposed to be open a little. I generally prefer setting a rough idle of pretty close to 650/700 using the plates, then let the BAC take care of loads.
|
yea but his are jacked open about 5%, someone decided to fiddle around with the idle set screw and it ran fine so i never messed with it. and his BAC isn't hooked up, not setup for outputs with the LT8s.
oh and then i would have to relearn the idle in the microtech so dont screw with it until the car is at my shop. |
My bad....Pretty much Karack does all the work. I just clean shit and do easy stuff :D

lol, 5% is a bit much, usually they sit about 1-2mm or so.

damn straight bitch!

ooooh, another rebuild customer.. hey nick. :) |
Haha, yeah I have really low vaccum at idle, but that could be due to a few different things..like me drilling that hole in the blockoff plate in the wrong place
