T2 vs NA driveshaft...what's the difference?

What is the actual difference between the NA and T2 driveshafts?

I assume the splines are the same and that one is longer than the other. In the case that the T2 one is longer, I though it would be kind of neat if someone made a spacer that would let you save the time and money of getting a T2 driveshaft when doing a swap or an upgrade to a turbo transmission... or let someone use whichever diff they wanted with the NA transmission/shaft.

Of course, they might not have the same bolt pattern... I don't know.

splines are different, because there would be more power being laid down.I just switched my N/A trans out to a TII trans, but I used a Conversion Shaft to go to a N/A diff.I noticed that some n/a Driveshafts are not the Same. One is smaller in Diameter than another one..

Automatics are smaller, shorter

Also, isn't the flange that connects the diff to the driveshaft a bit bigger on the TII?

size (diameter)

I have 2 N/A driveshafts, and one is physically thicker than the other. Although I have been told they hold the same ammount of power. The TurboII trans isn't any longer but it has a thicker end with different spline count going into the tailshaft.

misterstyx I am in the process of doing the same. Did you have any prolems with the clutch? I can physically watch the slave cylinder and release fork move but the clutch doesn't disengage. Did you have to adjust the rod going into the master cylinder at all? This car was originally auto swap to man using na trans, now I am swapping to turbo trans.
