T2 has a lousy ride
 

I don't know about other FC's, but when I drive my FC, the ride sucks. I feel every bump. A little bump and the car feels like the struts are made of solid steel. Anyone else have this problem? I'm on my third FC and I figure its all FC's. Anyone have any remedies?

this car is designed to HANDLE, not to be soft and cushy. stiff springs and firm shocks = harsh ride.

get an adjustable suspension and turn it down to its softest setting. Then get thick tires. and sit on a pillow.

I have an aftermarket sus. so i feel EVERY imperfection in the road, but it doesn't bother me. Plus my car corners on a dime now.
Any decent sports car will feel the same way, if you don't like it buy something else.

i love the stiff suspension on my T2. was a vast improvement over my 96 SC2 :-)

Get a cadillac with an air ride and sell your t2 to someone who will appreciate it, you whining bum!

Or buy an '86 NA with stock suspension. Mine is about 17 years old now, and it floats over bumps and is a little bouncy. Luckily my GC's are shipped :D

well, the real question is what kind of suspension is in the car and is it shot or not...stiff suspensions ay be uncomfortable to some degree but if shocks/struts are toast the car will ride terribly. I've got GC coilovers w/ some STIFF eibach 2.5 inchers (forgot what rates I chose) on KYB's as well as the full poly-urethane kit. Sure, the ride is really solid but in my opinion the car's ride is tip-top :) It's a good thing when you have a bunch of FAST cars at the shop like 2 old school turbo Z's (600 hp for one, 400 for the other), a 300hp WRX, and an Eclipse GST spyder (must be 300hp) ALL w/ either springs/struts or coilovers and whenever they drive my car they rave about how it out-corners everything else they've driven hehe

I've been in some FC's w/ blown stock components the handled really really poorly and rode even worse. Little knocks from the corners when u go over bumps is a sign your struts/shocks are blown, leaking oil is a sure sign hehe overtime springs also sag (stock ones) and loose their consistency - check it out

My '89TII has the stock suspension, and when using different tire brands, and larger sizes, it sure changes the ride quality. With Bridgestone's the car rode like I was in a covered wagon. Now I have Toyo Proxes, and they are great, but still no Cadillac. Make sure tire pressure isn't too high.

I love my suspension. When I bought the car I immediatly noticed it. Its stiff as a board and doesnt ping, creak, or pop at all. The car corners like its on rails. My 85 or 87TII never felt like that. I check the suspension but I didnt see anything that looked upgraded. Maybe stock replacements? But hey if it aint broke dont fix it.

The T2 does have a slightly harsher ride than a heavy duty suspension equipped N/A, simply because of the extra body weight, but if the ride is very poor I would be looking at worn out or aftermarket poorly chosen suspension parts.

or just do the suspension swap meaning if ur good with electronics take the n/a's springs adjuster and out it on urs

If I wanted a SUV, I would have bought one. Did you read the orignal post? It says this is my third FC. You think If I didn't like the ride, I wouldn't have bought it for the 3rd time. Use your brain.

OK dumbass. I love my RX-7. Did I ask you simple question on maybe how to improve the ride quality. Ever though about a worn bushing? or worn strut mounts? or maybe bent subframe? or control arms? ever THINK!? god. Just shut up.

I'm already aware of my rear strut leaking oil and my springs are starting to sagg, thats why I asked what could improve the ride, so I can take it in consideration when I order my new struts and springs.

I'll take that in consideration when ordering tires. Thanks.

Sell it? Did you know how long it took me to find another T2 after my first one blew? about 1-2 years to find one local in my area and still in great shape? I probably would not take n/a springs and put it on my T2. Why in the world would I do that. But thanks for the suggestion.

you can't be serious, its supposed to be harder ;)
