Synthetic oil with premix?
I have heard that if you dont run the right synthetic oil in a rotary, its not good because it doesn't burn off and lubricate the chamber as well as non-synthetic oil.
I am running premix, always have too. But I'm wondering, running premix should enable people to use synthetic, no? And wouldn't it be better? |
Maybe back in the stone age synthetics didn't work. With premix the whole problem is eliminated anyways.

I use KLOTZ Synthetic blend for racing 2-stroke motorcycles in mine. Smells like your running racing fuel. 1oz per gallon

Im not too sure of the subject my self, but i just stick to castrol gtx.

if you have no OMP or have it disabled, run synthetic. if it is still functional you must use dino oil. IMO, the ability to use synthetic oil is the only good reason to unhook the OMP anyway.

You can use ANY synthetic in the proper weight in your rotary, whether you premix or have a functioning MOP.
The anti-synthetic stance is the most overly hyped bullcrap spread around the web and by Mazda. I think that the big issue is with cost. Many cheapos neglect oil change intervals when using synthetic(because the stoopid bottle said so). Other fools forget to top off that expensive oil and run out. I run synthetic with working OMP for the past 100k. Why does my engine still run like new? I also don't have brand loyalty so you can bet just about every brand of synth has been run several times. Can ANYONE post an engine failure directly caused by usage of a synthetic oil? |
