Swapping S5 N/a water pump for S4 N/a water pump.

given I have the whole housing/pump/t-stat/filler neck can I swap them? My 89 GTU just starting pissing coolant from the lower weep hole and I got a great S4 pump sitting at home off of my 87. What problems will I encounter?

if you have the whole housing it should swap right over, i have an s4 housing on my s5 block in my s4 car...

P.S. Dont loose the shims!

on my t2 you need the front cover too. i tried the s4t2 on my s5 front cover and its shaped a little differently. i have all the stuff at home for a s4 t2. that im going to sell eventually. wont be able to get it until thanksgiving though.

S4 -> s5 you have to change the front cover. I'm pretty sure the same is true for vice versa.

damnit I guess, I don't want to swap front covers just to save 50 bucks. Thanks guys.

You just need to do a little grinding; I have put an s5 waterpump assemble on an s4.
