swapping an S5 13B-t into a S4 TII chassis

My FC has a blown motor. i wanna know how complicated it will be to put a S5 engine into an S4 chassis.

is it hard to do? i have a contact who has a J-spec S4 and S5 engine. do you guys know anyone who has dropped a S5 motor into an S4 chassis? is it possible and feaseable? or should i just get the S4 engine.

please remember, these are JDM motors.

i'd appreciate input of any kind. thanks.

i've done it and it's easy, but i would highly recommend sticking with an s4 if all possible...but again, if you truly want to drop the s5 engine in, there's only a few things you need to do....(going about the swap without replacing any of the electrical harnesses)

1.) swap the front engine covers. s4 have a mechanical oil metering pump and s4 have the electical one unless you want to run pre-mix.

2.) if you do swap the front covers you'll also need to swap the water pump housing and throttle body (you can keep the s5 upper and lower intake bodies)

3.) swap any sensor that doesn't fit on the s4 harness (like the s4 tps)

4.) don't forget the injectors...you'll need to swap them too...

again, this is only if you don't plan on replacing all of the electrical harnesses on the car and getting a new used ecu.

Simple swap, Swap the S4 front engine cover on the S5 engine. Swap your injectors/wiring harness to the S5 engine. Not really that hard. other than the swap of the front cover.

what about the tranny?

hey, i was wondering...do i have to have the J-spec S5 tranny if i use an S5 motor? what about the S4 motor, is that a direct bolt on?

just curious
