Swap Options : Need Opinions!

Hey there

Looking to do a swap of some sort for more power over this winter. I have talked to a guy and he has told me his options for swaps etc with pricing. I'm looking for feedback on these different swaps and which would be the most rewarding.

I am looking for a boost in power, and well something a bit different. But not so different that when something busts its a pain in the ass to fix.

These are my options.

$2500-$3000 a full rebuilt T2 swap

$2500-$3000 a supercharged fc

$4000-$4250 a rebuilt 13btt w/standalone

Now i wanna know, is the extra pricing for the twin turbo worth it? Or for the same amount of money should i just mod the T2 engine? Also if you have any pics of the 13btt engine in an Fc would be much appreciated! Any words of wisdom are welcome. I don't need anybody saying oh another person with dreams who won't end up doing it. I have the money and the resources just want some opinions.

Cheers

Go as fast as your comfortable spending.

uhmmmmm..... what is a 13btt anyway? Is it a 13bt that someone modded with a twin turbo system? Is it a 13-bre? 13-brew? That would make more sense. I'm thinking it's the bre, or I'll assume anyways. But yea, the reason for the more dough is the standalone. They are expensive, but really open up your options for future modification.

Oh yea...... SEARCH NOOB!!!!

Yes, he means a 13b-rew. Go 13B-t imho.

Sell your car and buy a turbo 2. Unless your car is a super clean car. Otherwise you can pick up a TII in decent shape for around $3k.

it is a 13bre-tt sorry i forgot to put the Rotary Engine in... didn't know it would confuse you that bad :hahano:

My car is clean, it has had lots of bodywork done on it etc already so i'm not wanting to buy a turbo II i would have hit up the for sale section if i wanted to.

I have searched also and not had much success.

Cheers, and thanks to the people who actually said something relevant.

13b-re or 13b-rew. if you are gonna spend some real money id go with the cosmo (13b-re and a stand alone. you are gonna need to get more stuff though such as a turbo, manifold, wastegate, exhaust and fuel. if you dont want to spend that much just buy a t2 or a t2 swap.

Why should i rather go with the cosmo one what are the pros and cons? Also why the T2 swap? Just recommended because of it being more compatible with the car its being put into than the other engines?

umm you can go tII with standalone/port/single turbo for alot cheaper then with the 13brew... ohh and trust me when I say engine swaps are a real b***h, even one as seemingly simple as 13bt to 13brew

and 20b will cost you MINIMUM $8k before it worth the swap, but prob more like $15 (assuming you do the work yourself)
You can also go piston Ls1 will run ya about 5K-8K, or VG30de/Vg30dett (300zx n/a, and twin turbo motors) will run ya $2500/$4000, also SR20DET is popular for about $4K

search...

Thanks for the info, i won't be doing the swap anyways and thats the reason why cause i don't have time and patience to deal with it.

Maybe the 13bt is the way to go then. Since i'm not looking to spend upwards of 4 grand if i don't really have to, and i think with the twin turbo swap it will keep adding up as it gets put in the car.

i would stick with the 13bt also. you wouldnt want to keep the twin turbos on the re or rew motors anyway.
