Suspension

Hey all,

I'm just starting to learn about my 7, the engine is in perfect running condition. I replaced both ball joints and it stopped shaking at 55 mph. But now at 40 mph+ the back end feels like it sways back and forth when I hit a bump. Do I need new struts and springs, or is it the stabilizer or sway bar. I don't want to buy the wrong part. Eventually when I have the funds I'll get a new suspension but for now I'd like to stop the swaying. Can anybody help?

There are two bushes in your rear suspention that acts like Passive rear wheel steering, this set up is a desired taste and some poeple dont like it. As the car gets older and they get a bit of wear in them to this makes the car feel like you have bad bushes on the back (tends to crab a bit) i belive Racing Beat do a kit to remove these bushes and go to a fixed rear.

This is all taking into account that you have checked the rear for damage etc.

If you go ahead and change these bushes for added Handling i would fit Poly Bushes, this is a Nightmare job but well worth the end product.
