Surging idle, intermittent

Alright, so once in a while my idle will surge from 1400-1600. I checked my TPS, it's in spec. BAC is fine. No vacuum leaks.

What's weird is, last night I went out for a drive, pick up a pack of cigs, and after she warmed up, the idle was rock solid at ~800. I go to a gas station, let the car sit outside, still running, get back in the car, start adjusting some interior pieces, lining em up, just some bullshit stuff. Then all of a sudden, without the touch of the throttle, or brakes, or clutch, or any wiring movement, she started surging.

I'm stumped here.

Any help or a guide in the right direction would be great. Since it is intermittent, I'm a bit lost.

Thanks,
James

Anything that allows more air into the intake without opening the throttle can do that.
Look for an intermittant air leak.
A likely spot is the plastic intake duct. It can crack so the opening changes as the motor moves.

Thanks for the quick response, I'll give it a check tomorrow.
