Sunroof Weatherstrip....$116?!

Hey,

I think my sunroof might be leaking but unsure at this point. Just had a windshield replaced and they came back and resealed it but the weatherstrip on my sunroof isn't looking to good either.

Is there anywhere to get the new rubber without having to pay that outragious amount of almost $120 just for weather stripping?

the seal at the sunroof only helps keep water out, it is not supposed to be water tight. there is water drip channels and drain hoses in the sunroof for that purpose, i would suspect those are your problem. as far as a new seal, JC whitney has a big list of different types of weatherstrip materials in bulk sizes so if you can match up the style and size you can just get it in a length.

Oh ok,

So how would you get to the channels to see if there is a blockage?

What happens is when it rains water some how gets under that metal trim piece at the front of the headliner but only drips out the drivers side where it meets up with the pillar trim. Sound like the channels still?

possible but it sounds like the windshield seal to me. you have to remove the headliner to get to the sunroof channels, would be pretty easy to locate a leak at that point.

yes take the headliner down and remove the drivers side drain hose it is rubber try to blow through it.
