Summer coolant-water %
what do you guys run in the summer months? 60 water-40 coolant? 50-50? i would think more water could have cooler temps
not even sure what % is in there now, it started 50-50 for the winter, then i have added just plain water if it ever needed it over the last year |
70-30 water-coolant, or even 80-20
|
Manual says just run 50/50. That's what I've always run.

I like a little more water than antifreeze. It doesnt get that cold here in CA
|

50% just like the manual says.
|
I'm running 50/50... well not "running" yet, but it's in there!
|
50/50 is recomended but if u are ina really hot place 70/30 would be greatr.. as long as u dont keep it like that when the temps get below freezing.
either way if u have a properly working cooling system (fan, t-stat, radiator) and your coolant is 50/50 u should have no problems |
I run 0% water and 100% coolant.
Evans NPG+ with a non pressurized cooling system. |
I thought of running evans, but it seems such a pain to clear the system of water, and its flammable. A hill climb guy was running, and got a leak, car caught on fire quite quickly. Coolant is alot easier to get a hold of. And if your system is working correctly, you should have no problems

NPG+ is a blend of Propylene Glycol (see above) and Ethylene Glycol (see your current radiator) If your hill-climbing-flame-spewing buddy blamed the NPG+, he was making excuses.

I never need to buy coolant again.

I've always run 60-40 water - coolant and used distilled water after a good flush.
