stupid newb grounding question.
I'm relocating my battery to the back bin and have a question. When I relocate the grounding point to somewhere in the back will that ground my whole car or will I have to do anything else like jumper it to the engine bay?

that will ground the whole car like you need. just make sure you have a good solid, clean tight connection to the body. you may also want to upgrade the engine to body ground too.

ok cool thanks, wasn't sure if it was going to be good enough or not. Does the ground need to be on a bolt on the outside of the car or does it matter?
|
what i would do is clean a spot inside of the cargo box, down to bare metal and put a good like 8mm or 10mm bolt through it and tighten it up. after its all snuged up i would spray on some of the stuff that stops batteries from corroding. so you dont get that white shit on your bare metal.

ok thanks man will do. Appreciate it greatly!

There should already be a seatbelt mounting point back there for the optional rear seats. I'd just use that for the grounding point. That way you have a good solid connection, and don't have to drill new holes. Just grind the paint off of it first like Mort suggested.

ok I'll look for that bolt. I took just a few seconds to look for a bolt back there and didn't see anything but I will look better in a little bit. Thanks for thi tips.
