Stuck flywheel, anything i didnt think of?
Well guys, i just picked up new motor for my fc and as i was starting to transfer stuff over, i spun the flywheel bolt off, and all progress stopped. This thing is STUCK. I have done the following, with no avail.
-6lb sledge around all sides -2 bolts through the middle(both sheered and snapped, tranny bolts too!) -Puller, it ripped the circle of teeth off, so there are no teeth on this flywheel anymore. -PB blast and hit it some more Right now i have it outside hanging off the engine hoist, it has ALL the weight of hte motor on it, using the outside flywheel bolts, while we beat on the sides and STILL wont move. Hell, we have picked it up while its on there, and dropped it a foot and it STILL wont move. This thing is STUCK. If you have any ideas please tell. If you give me an idea that works i will paypal you $10. 100% serious. I can NOT get this thing off and i NEED it off. |
Heat!

Put some balls into it. Just hit it some more around the flywheel. I have never had one that would not come off.
Thanks Robert |

PB Blaster and whack the sh*t out of the back of it (on the edges) with a 5-pound hammer and a block of wood. Alternate between each side.

Tie the engine to one of those firetrucks and the flywheel to the other, something is bound to happen

I did it! I have done everything. THis thing is a BITCH. I am borrowing a 10 lb tommorow to go at it with. see if that will knock it loose.

Had the same problem with mine. It is not about the force of the strike but repitition to get the flywheel to vibrate. It does not take strength. Get a rythem going and it will vibrate off.

Put a Tire Iron Between the Flywheel and the Rear of the Engine.(there is plenty of room, and you won't Hurt anything).then Hit the Flywheel on the Opposite side of where the Tire Iron is,with a 4 pound slegde,While using a Slight Pulling action on the Tire Iron..Just don't hit the flywheel on any "working surface"(like where the Clutch plate makes contact.)it will Work it loose..I've done Plenty of them that way..No heat involved,Unless you call my Coffee HOT!
