Stripped front hub bolt
Yeah, so i dont know why i have this kind of luck, I 'attempted' to start tearing down a core i have and the 19mm front hub bolt decided it felt like stripping out
I do have a 110v mig welder but i have a feeling i cant get a strong enough weld onto that bolt to weld larger nut to it to help remove it I dont want to damage the e-shaft in hopes that all barring clearences are still in spec Do thoes 'gatter' sockets advertised on t.v. work, even just once? ive read about people holesawing around the bolt so you can dissaseemble everything, i could then possibly remove the remains with a chain wrench but again, i dont want to risk damaging the e-shaft |
i know that they make twist sockets for just that reason. i know that snap on sells then. is is like a spiral cone and has bug teeth on it. or you can try to tap on a slightly smaller socket.
just my 2cents |
i would first try maybe grinding it down to say 17mm. Its a tough call, i have heard of those being nightmares to remove but i have never had a problem... just with the damn flywheel nut.

Did you torch the bolt first? There should be locktite on it, and breaking the locktite first should help. |
