A flathead jammed in somewhere in the bellhousing always worked for me.

its a light weight flywheel so its pushed back a little so there is nothing for the flate head to hold on t0

In that case, if you have a couple extra $$ to spend, go to home depot and buy a piece of square tubing. Drill some holes and bolt it to the flywheel. Turn the flywheel till the tube is on the ground. BAM, holds great.

The tubing should only be like 10-15$.

With transmission on engine-

Impact gun on front shaft bolt or a rubber band wrench in main pulley groove while you do front shaft bolt (hard as not a lot of room in engine bay).

DO NOT push the clutch in while front bolt is loose as it can cause the front thrust bearing to drop out of place.

The clutch should be held to the floor with a piece of 2x4 against the seat (or other similar arrangement) to prevent the torrington bearing from falling. The throwout bearing presses against the pressure plate, which moves the whole eccentric forward and keeps the bearing from dropping.
