stock vs xact flywheel

so my 87 n/a ring gear broke off so i decided to install my turbo drivetrain. i installed an act exact turbo flywheel with an oem counterweight to match my motor.

but of course i didnt think to weigh the lightweight flywheel and counterweight before i installed it. so can anybody tell me what the oem n/a flywheel weighs and how much my new assembly weighs?

OE flywheel = 24lbs

Xact flywheel = 9-11 lbs plus counterweight ~5lbs =14-16lbs.

also i forgot to specify its the xact streetlite. is that the 9-11 lb one?

looks like they updated the weight rating. prolite is 9.8lbs and the streetlite is 13.9lbs, not including the counterweight weight.

wow my set up didnt get much lighter then =(

Overall weight doesn't matter as much as that ring around the outside anyway.
Just having an aftermarket flywheel at all is quite nice, after that it's not really worth it between them unless you're really pushing it :)

6lbs of rotating mass is actually a big chunk and you will notice the difference immediately.

That!

Most of the weight on the factory flywheel is towards the outside. Most of the weight on the new one is towards the inside. It is going to be a very big difference. I have always loved light flywheels.
