stock psi for s5 TII?

could someone tell me about the stock psi in the s5 tII? Also, does the 2nd gen tend to overheat like the 3rd gens do, and if they do, must one purchase a aftermarket radiator, oil coolers and such?

Stock max boost is 8.25psi, but it doesn't hold this all the way to redline.

The stock cooling system is fine for a mild mods, but the fact that they're all 13-17 years old means some components have reached the end of there lifespan. Like any car, as long as everything is in good shape, overheating is not a problem.

stock boost is 7.5, I've never heard the 8.5 but I can see it happening with a DP, Intake and Exhaust. I agree with NZconvertible.....Parts wear out with time, so have then checked out.

Thanks for the info. I don't own a 7, but i've liked the 3rd gens. a while now. Considering I'm a college student and how much they cost, I began to look at FC's up about 2 weeks or so and read some stuff on them. Now i'm really starting to like the s5 TII's. I think i'll probably end up purchasing one in a few months when I gather up enough dough and find one in good shape. I also appreciate that there is people like you guys and a forum that houses them, so that rotary fans (or cars in general, for that matter) can come to and ask for help.

Thanks,
Carlos

Read the FSM.

Not sure whether he means max or avg boost from factory. Mine runs @7-7.5 while I thought fuel cut was 8.6. Mine has never had a problem with running even the slightly bit hot, however, as stated above, 14 year old vehicles, if not taken care of, can have numerous problems that are age related.

As I said above, max boost is 8.25psi (as per the FSM), but this drops towards redline. The age of these cars means things like tired turbos and clogged cats might mean it can't get that high now, but it did when it was new.

The gague maxes out at 8.7psi... :D
