Stock FC fuel line= -??? AN
 

OK I am going to buy a perma cool fan for my car, and I am going to buy the right fuel line for my car, since I am running fuel line that is not recomended for fuel injected cars. But I believe the stock size is 3/8 if it isn't that it is 5/16, but I can' remember, and I am going to buy braded fuel line, and the only size ratings the have is
-4 AN, -6 AN, -8 AN, and -10 AN, can anyone tell me which one of these fits the stock RX-7 fuel hose size, and what that sizing stands for??

You cant exactly run braided line without braided fittings. You should just buy standard 5/16 (factory) high pressure fuel line to replace. Unless you want to unload some serious money for fittings, just use black rubber line, and if you want something shiny, get a sleeving kit for it.

No the kind I found doesn't need fittings (or at least I don't think so) I am pretty sure that all you have to do is get radiator clamps.

Then it's probably just regular old rubber hose with some braided sleeve around the outside of it.

it's -6 but you can't clamp braided line to a the regular hard line clamp end. you;ll need to get some steel -6 fittings, ( you can usually get test bench fittings for freefroma local hydraulic shop ), if not performance improvments is the only place out side of a few hydraulics shop that would have AN fittings in stock.

the typical fiting you'll get is a steel -6 to 3/8 NPT male/male fitting, cut off the NPT end, file the backside flat , counter sink the back side with a 3/8" or 1/16" larger drill, then simply braze the counter sunk end to the fuel line hard pont end, you'll need to do this 4 times for the return and the incomming lines, plus you'll need to get an AN filte as well.. I've done the same thing with both m PS pump and my oil cooler lines if you'' d like pics of what it looks like done let me know I'll send you some or post them..

Wow, that is really helpful, how much harder is it to braze rather than to weld??
