stock ecu and bridge ported motor

will the stock ecu work with a bridge ported n/a motor. or will it make the ecu wacky? ive gotten mixed answers. some people say you need a stand alone if you get a bridge?

It will run... but you wouldn't be taking advantage of the bridge port AT ALL. A bridge really isn't feasable on a stock ecu.

Will it run? Sure. Will it run well? No way in hell.

It will run great at WOT. Any other time it's complete crap. :)

The port timings in a bridgeported engine are totally different from stock. The pulsing vacuum and intake stroke wreaks havoc with fuel metering at part throttle.

bringing up an old thread......anyways would this mean that a street ported TII motor not work well either with a stock TII ecu?

No, just a bridge because of the way its cut. A street is simply opening up the ports to allow more air to come in and more exhaust to get out. Although, just like a bridge, your not getting the full power you could out of it. A stand-alone is recommended when you port a motor IMO. You could however upgrade to a rtek chip.
