Stock Clutch= Unhappy rx7 driver

I just had my motor replaced a little over 2000 miles ago and now i figured it would be safe to play around a little harder. So i'm sitting at a stop light with a friend who's got a modded V6 mustang and i figure why not give it a go. My launch in first was fine but when i went to throw the car into second @ about 7800 rpm and my clutch gave way for about a second, letting the motor spin to about 8100. It then caught but the slip really bothered me and i soon begun to smell that awful burnt clutch smell. This thing is practically brand new and i double checked the fluid and it's fine. There is no air in the lines or anything. What do you think the best replacement kit for my 7 would be???

BTW, even though i slipped i still spanked the stang!
gotta love rx7's :bigthumb:

I got a ACT in my TII. Check that, mine is pretty good, but then again I haven't driven it alot.

In the old days we called that buzzing the clutch.
If you're gonna race, you need a race clutch.

I drive a compromise. It's a copper/ceramic 6-puck sprung center, clamped to a light flywheel

What you think about "XTD" product?

With a very gentle release, you get a very gentle start.

With a medium release, it makes a squeal & clamps.
With a light flywheel, you need to hold >2K to keep from stalling.

With a quick release, it just plain clamps, you’re racing.
