Stereo skips when throttle is applied...
Hey guys,
The background is that this all started right after the down pipe came loose from the exhaust manifold a couple weeks ago. When I put my foot down at all, the CD player skips. Same with when I hit a bump in the road. I'm just not sure what exactly the problem is. Or how to fix it. I'm wondering if it's a ground, or if it's just the aftermarket stereo itself is getting old, or if maybe the heat escaping right by the firewall (from the loose exhaust) melted some wires...? I dont know. Point is, if it's the stereo, I'll buy a new one. If it's a ground, can someone supply pics for where the stereo ground would typically be? Also, the radio doesn't seem to be able to pick up any stations... Hm... That's new... Anyways, any help would be great! Thanks in advance! |
ummmmm...... not to be mean but did you see if the cd is scratched?
|
probably vibrated something loose...check the back of the stereo deck
|
If it was a ground then the cd player would turn off randomly its probably your deck I've had a few that started to skip.

Was the CD a store bought one or one you burned yourself. Car decks prefer homemade disks to be recorded at the slowest speed possible. The faster you record the more likely it will skip.
If the radio doesn't cut out in similar situations then the problem is likely the deck or the disk. |
Turn off the stereo and listen to the Nice "music" of that Rotary engine @5k RPM!'s
I got a decent sound system in my FC,but I have it off alot.I like listening to the Engine's response..Brappp.PSHHH!.(should be in the Top Ten!) The stock CD player is a little outdated anyways,so I would just find something that is a little more modern. That will fix the skip...GOOD Luck to ya,.STYX!~ |
i dunno about you but droning for half an hour or more on the highway is really not a nice sound at all.
