stereo question

ok, so i'm installing a new head unit. i got a 91 n/a. when i looked up the wiring harness diagram, my stereo corresponded to the 92 and newer stock tape decks. there are 2 banana clips in back of the stock deck. what the hell are they and what do i do with them? one is male, and one is female. the male, i plug into my antennae plug on my new deck, correct? but what's the female one? i've been DYING to know this, cuz i tried hooking an old deck up before and it didn't function.

i'm running all the wires myself, so no big deal about the amps. i figure if i want it done right, i should do it ALL myself, and not trust old wiring. however, i'm still taking the amps out. i only found one in front (pass. side), but i couldn't find any in back. on top of the shock tower (under the speaker obviously) there was only an unplugged wiring harness which looked like the one plugged into the front amp. think my back amps have already been removed? should i even bother looking for them?

by the way, i'm not getting an adapter for my DECK wiring harness, because i'm completely altering the setup. no 4" 2 ways. i got 2 6" 3-ways up front, and 2 in the shock towers. a 10" sub sitting behind the driver, and 2 tweeters up by the dash. but don't worry, i got my trusty wiring diagram from www.installdr.com to help me out ;-) (sadly this diagram had NO info on the banana plugs)

geez, this is a long post... so to review my 2 questions... what is the purpose of the 2nd banana plug/clip thingy? where are the back amps?

thanks ya'll,
jarvs

ps- any other comments on my little project to help me out would be much appreciated.

The plugs you talk about are for the 2 antenna's ... the rear power one and the one embedded in the front windshield. Each one has it's own plug. I think the male is the rear one, female is the windshield one.
