Steppin it up. My FC FULL Bridge GT-45

Well it has been posted on TeamFC3S already, I figured i would post it here too. So yeah Finally convinced BDC to do our 1st full bridge street car, yes I drive it to work.
My car was already half bridged, so bridging the primaries was cake conservative too. I also swapped my turbo set up while I was at it. I went from the Master Power T-70 to the Master Power GT-45 turbo. It is a very large turbo with an exhaust wheel bigger than a Q-trim wheel. Thanx to bobybeach for the turbo too. I already have around 250 miles on the engine and I'm loving it. I see it no different than driving my old Half-bp around town and yes you get a choppier idle. The low end response feels the same to me too. The car is almost ready/set up for hi boost runs. which i hope to do in the next 2 weeks or so. Any ideas on what type of power to expect around 21psi? :)
here are some pix.

whoa, nice! are those fno1rs polished?

snub disphenoid 06-28-06 01:52 AM

I have never seen anyone use this turbo on an RX-7 before, but it doesn't seem TOO big. I say that if you crank it to 30psi you might hit your goal of 600rwhp. Lots of people seem to think that around 500+hp you run into restrictions with the stock intake setup, that's why a lot of the high HP people have Jaytech or custom intake manifolds when trying to push that much HP. Still, LUPE made 603rwhp on a streetported FD engine@27psi, I think at 30 you'll crack 600.

What are you doing to make sure the engine holds together at high boost (>15psi)?

Wankel7 06-28-06 03:21 AM

You better give me a ride!

Yes that is the ultimate goal...just need a better EBC to do it. The engine will do fine under 20psi...its 30 where I begin to squint.

Don't mean to steal your thread, but about how much does a full bridgeport with a full rebuild cost?

Slammedblk7 06-28-06 10:56 AM

You would have to ask bdc i'm not sure he does full for customers.

2RICE4U 06-28-06 12:23 PM

looks good, better make another dyno video;)

slow_2ed_gen 06-28-06 12:57 PM

just wondering what size shoe that is next to the turbo? because that pic makes the turbo look massive

Aaron Cake 06-28-06 01:04 PM

That's some nice bridgeport there. :) The video sounds good.....

I've seen this turbo used before on an RX-7, though it was a 20B. Made something like 407HP at 7 PSI....which is amazing considering that the shop who built it can't even put together a 13B properly....

Slammedblk7 06-28-06 01:10 PM

My shoe size is 11.5 it is indeed a large turbo more pix and vids to come

Undutched 06-28-06 01:25 PM

i have a new desktop background hehe.

wondering what kinda exhaust manifold you have, and if you worry about it possibly cracking under stress+heat. Cant wait to see numbers!

The manifold is an HKS Cast...should be bullet proof.

vipers 06-28-06 09:35 PM

damn dude! what a turbo upgrade! thats the turbo i almost bought, but went a little more conservitive w/ the mp t70:) you lucky ass!

iceblue 06-28-06 10:07 PM

Dave Gibson ran that turbo on his street port 13b he ran on pinks. Not posted but he made 570whp at 27psi on a mustang dyno.

Slammedblk7 06-28-06 11:31 PM

Yes indeed the turbo should bring back good numbers, with the full bridge I hope to make the power with slightly lower boost.. time will tell

staticguitar313 06-28-06 11:37 PM

Whens it coming back from paint?

Silver Devil 06-29-06 12:28 AM
