Steering Wheel Problem
Ok! I've searched all over the place and my friends and I are all stumped.
I got my steering wheel installed for the past couple of months and I gotta say there's not much problems with it other than the fact that it squeaks REALLY LOUD when I turn it. At first, I was ok with it, but then it's starting to bug me more and more. At first I thought something was rubbing in the back, but after it took everything off and greased it up.. it still squeaks. Has anyone experienced this prior and/or has a solution? I mean.. did i tighten the nut a little too hard? cuz the steering wheel is sorta tight, but if i don't tighten it, then i'm worried that it'll be too loose. Sigh~ I'm so confused... |
Mine started squeaking like yours right after i got off a gravel road. I'm unsure of the cause too.

well, i don't see why if the stock steering wheel didn't squeak, the aftermarket one would go nuts...
nobody had a solution? |
take off the plastic ignition surround..still there?

My Grant hub did make contact and squeaked like you describe. |
i took off the surrounds already, still squeaks.
i tried loosening the hub, and that helped.... but i don't wanna drive around with a loose hub/steering wheel. |
an incorrect aftermarket hub will crush the turnsignal cancel switch and cause a tightness/ rubbing sound in addition to the sound from the ignition surround plastic
i found this out the hard way:( i broke the signal cancel switch |
hey, do you have the right hub for your car? maybe that might be the problem. I bought a sparco hub and is crap damnit, it makes the steering too tight and stick to the back lol
