steering idler pulley, or bearing available...?
 

Hello. I cannot find power steering idler pulley, or bearing. Mine is worn and screachy.... Mazdatrix only shows one for AC which is different. None of the parts stores here are any help. No mazda dealer...
From what I can make out the part number for the bearing is: NSK 6203DU

Anybody know where to find one?

Turns out that is the wrong pulley. It is for A/C and they are different. I cannot find a powersteering pulley anywhere. A/C pulley on left.

Looks like my 88' pulley that has a captive bearing. I bought the Gates and it was NOT the right pulley. Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda got me the right one (about a year ago). It was pricey though. Try the used parts section if nothing else.

Hmm... I thought they were the same pulley. Maybe you could get another tensioner bolt (from a part-out thread) for the AC pulley and still use it for your PS pulley?

I've got the new replacement bearing for you. Left over from when I replaced my own bearings. You just need access to a press.

Thanks guys. I ended up finding a bearing that fits at Ace hardware of all places. Pressed it in and so far so good. No more screaching at higher rpm's.

^ glad you found a way...but keep an eye on it. Make sure the bearing is adequate for the application (i.e. not a utility cheapo bearing).

When I replaced both idler bearings I just took off the snap ring holding the p/s one and followed the part number on it, and even specified the same brand. Don't wanna mess with it sooner than I have to, even though it's an easy job.

I searched the part numbers off the bearing and found nothing. The parts store even tried to find it in a couple parts books and nothing. All they could get is the one for A/C pulley.... :( Mine didn't have a snap ring....

no part #? It's been over two years...maybe I just measured using my caliper and checked the size on a catalogue...will check my bookmarks for future ref.

you're awesome. I ran into the same problem. since I'm not using A/C I just switched pulleys. Apparently there were two different types of pulleys made for the FC chassis. Staked small diameter bearings and snapring set large diameter bearings. Only the small diameter pulleys are available now. I hope I can find the proper bolt for the small diameter, because now I have a brand new pulley with no use. My large diameter P/S pulley doesn't have a snapring but my A/C does. Odd, both are large diameter.
