Steel Fuel Hard Line Repair Suggestions
 

I have a 91 vert and developed leak at the mount for the steel fuel lines at hte rear after they come out of the gas tank. I'm hoping to get some suggestions on how long this will take to get back on the road. Looking under there I'm hoping I can just disconnect the line, bend and flare and pull to the front without a lot of hassle.

I'm guess I may need to pull the gas tank off which would be more work..

Also was thinking if I pull all the mounts and the fuel lines out maybe I should also run new 3/16 brake lines as well while I'm under there.

Simple questions, can I reuse the fittings? What sizes are the fittings and kinds? How much work is it getting them out?

Thoughts on putting a fitting at the lower ends after the bends and simply putting some hose on the section from the gas tank coming down to the hard line? bad idea? Would seem to simplify the installation considerably if I can just run rubber up to the tank.

I think you actually have to remove the whole subframe to properly do the fuel lines and if so, yeah, might as well do brake lines as well.

All the brake line fittings are 10mm x 1.0 and use a JIS inverted flare.

I was able to do the rear brake lines without removing the sub-frame, but yes as clokker states, you have to drop the sub frame to do the fuel lines "properly". I will replace the fuel lines when I drop the sub-frame to install the NB Miata Torsen LSD in the my 7" NA differential housing.

Brake lines may not bethat far behind, check those too. As of 2 years ago brake lines were still availible and only about 60-80 bucks
