Steel Braided fuel lines

as many of u know i bought a t2 with minor fire damage.i was wondering if it is possible to hook steel braided fuel lines up to the fuel rail?if possible what kind of fitting would i need.cause i would like 2 get rid of the rubber fuel lines all together,if possible.

thanx

braided steel, and especially fitings are very expensive.

Mazdatrix sells the stuff by the way

Look to marine supply type places. They seem to be waaaaaaaaay more reasonable than your typical Summit/Jegs pricing.

I'm doing this to my FD as we speak...but I'm STILL waiting for my order from summit.

Search the 3rd Gen forum for this...I posted up a list of EVERYTHING you will need....except for the fuel pump, which is the user's choice.

Im about done with SS fuel line in my TII. Its a parallel fuel rail are oppose to the stock rail that is series. The lines and fitting are very expensive. Look at spending more than $150.00 for fittings and lines alone. This also depends on how you route your lines. It'll probably cost you close to 300 bucks to do a parallel fuel rail.

Some guys here do a very overkill ss fuel line conversion. They run a pair of long @ss steel braided line from fuel rail all the way to the tank..GODD LUCK FCTURBO2

I am doing a parallel conversion off of an SX regulator as well on my TII project. I am using all SS HARD line w/ tube nuts/sleeves and just SS flex line for the section from engine to chassis. The only advantages the SS flex line has is its ability to flex and initial ease of installation- otherwise hard AN lines are far cheaper and more durable/reliable!

I have an 87 TII and the inlet and outlets of the primary and secondary fuel rails each consist of 1 12mm x 1.25 pitch thread and 1 14mm x 1.5 pitch thread once the stock pressure regulator and pulsation dampners are off the rail (aftermarket SX regulator serves both functions and has 2 outlets for a perfect parallel system).

My full system is as follows. -6 AN SS flex hose from stock fuel hardline to -6 AN swivel socket to SX regulator mounted on engine/trans (thats why 1 flex hose before regulator- cheaper on parallel system where there are 2 outlet hoses) to -6 female to female swivel to a -6 male to male fuel pressure guage adapter w/ 1/8 NPT hole for guage to -6 nut/sleeve to SS hardline to -6 nut/sleeve to -6/ 14mmx1.5 adapter to primary fuel rail to -6/ 12mmx1.25 adapter to -6 nut/sleeve to ss hardline to -6 all male "Y" fitting to -6 swivel to SS flex line on one end of the "Y" for return line and the last end of the "Y" comes from the 2ndary fuel rail. The 2ndary fuel rail goes- SX regulator to -6 nut/sleeve to SS -6 hardline to -6 nut/sleeve to -6/ 14mmx1.5 adapter to 2ndary fuel rail to -6/ 12mmx1.25 adapter to -6 nut/sleeve to SS hardline to -6 nut/sleeve to afore mentioned "Y" block.

Anyone wanna check that over and archive it? Ian
